Record findings where they are: right on the floor plan.
QualiWalk guides you through the inspection round: photograph the deviation, place a marker on the plan, agree a corrective action. You end up with a PDF report ready for filing, then track every action through to verification.
Built for small and medium-sized businesses. Local, lean, paid once.
Many inspection apps are built for large corporations: cloud platform, monthly per-user licences, countless modules. QualiWalk deliberately takes the opposite path.
Runs locally on your device
No server, no account, no cloud. Database, photos and reports stay on your PC or tablet. Your hygiene findings never end up in a vendor's data centre.
Only what an inspection needs
Floor plan, photos, checklist, report, action plan. No form builder, no workflow engine, no training days. After one inspection you know how it works.
Buy once, no subscription
A modest one-time price instead of monthly fees per user. The app keeps working even if you never pay again.
| Typical cloud inspection app | QualiWalk | |
|---|---|---|
| Data | in the vendor's cloud | local on your device |
| Internet | required for login and sync | never required |
| Cost | monthly or annual subscription, usually per user | one-time purchase price |
| Rollout | account, roles, IT approval, training | unzip the folder, start |
| Floor plan with markers | often only as an add-on module | core of the app |
| Scope | broad, for many industries and processes | focused on inspections and actions |
Wherever you regularly walk, check and follow up
You define categories, checklists and the findings catalogue yourself. So QualiWalk fits a hygiene inspection just as well as a 5S audit.
Food production
Hygiene and GMP inspections with complete evidence for customer and certification audits.
Occupational safety
Walk-throughs with the safety officer: locate hazards on the plan, assign actions, document implementation.
Order and cleanliness
5S audits with your own checklist, before/after photos and a compliance score you can compare over time.
Catering and canteens
Self-inspections in kitchen, storage and serving areas, without paper forms and without internet in the kitchen.
Bakery chains and multi-branch businesses
Each branch as its own site with a floor plan. The action plan shows open items per branch or across all of them.
Food Defense
Walk-throughs covering access control, fences, gates, locking systems and raw material stores. Locate weak points on the site plan and prove actions through to effectiveness.
Also for warehouses, workshops or offices: wherever a finding needs a location, a photo, a responsible person and a completion date.
From inspection to verified action
Store your plans
Import floor plans as PDF or image per plant, create checklists. Every plan change is kept as a new version with a “valid from” date.
Check and mark findings
Work through the checklist, tap the location on the plan, take and annotate photos, choose category and risk. Common findings come from your own catalogue.
Set action and deadline
Assign a responsible person. The target date follows from the risk rating, for example 7, 30 or 90 days.
Sign and generate the report
Participants sign on the device. The complete PDF report contains plans with markers, findings list, photo appendix and checklist.
Action plan per plant
All open actions from all inspections in one place, filterable by plant, responsible person, risk and “overdue”.
Verify completion
Record actual date and a photo of the fix, verify implementation. Open items carry over to the next inspection and are checked for effectiveness there.
Built from the practice of customer and certification audits
Developed by a quality manager who carries out inspections himself and has to present the evidence in audits.
Markers on the actual plan version
Each inspection locks in the valid plan version. Even after a renovation, old markers stay in the right place.
Checklists with compliance score
Your own checklist templates; each item is rated OK, Not OK or N/A. For “Not OK” you set the finding directly on the plan, and the compliance score appears in the report. Changed checklists are versioned.
Your own findings catalogue
Store common findings with description, category, risk and standard action and apply them with one tap during the walk-through. It can also be maintained in Excel via CSV export and import.
Annotated photos
Draw a circle, arrow or freehand directly on the photo. The original stays unchanged, the annotation appears in the report.
PDF report ready for filing
Letterhead with company logo, summary by category and risk, checklist compliance score and signature page.
KPIs from action tracking
Target date, actual date and verification per action make on-time completion and overdue items measurable. Export as CSV and PDF.
Complete change log
Who changed what and when. Entries cannot be edited or deleted and can be attached to the report.
Recycle bin and automatic backup
Deleted items stay recoverable for 30 days. Daily ZIP backup to a network drive of your choice.
Works where the Wi-Fi ends
QualiWalk works without internet and without a server. The database lives on your device; inspections can be transferred to other devices via an export file.
- Portable version: unzip the folder and start, no installation and no administrator rights
- Works in cold rooms and basements without Wi-Fi
- Photos and reports leave the plant only if you want them to
| No. | Finding | Target | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Cold room door seal damaged | 10-15 | Open |
| 2 | Escape route blocked by pallets | 10-09 | In progress |
| 3 | Condensation above production line | 11-07 | Open |
| 4 | Handwash basin without soap dispenser | 10-02 | Verified |
For the desk and the walk-through
Windows
Desktop app for Windows 10 and 11, as installer or portable version.
Android tablet
The same interface for the walk-through with camera and stylus, also fully offline.
Data exchange
Export inspections as a file and import them on another device, including photos and signatures.
I built the app I needed myself
For over 20 years I have worked in leading roles in quality assurance, quality and process management in the food industry. I have gained broad experience in very different segments, from delicatessen to bakery products, spices and the yeast industry. As management representative I was responsible for certifications to IFS Food, FSSC 22000, QS, organic and many other standards and have accompanied countless audits.
One thing was always the same: the inspection itself takes one to two hours, the follow-up half a day. Notes on a clipboard, photos on the phone, everything copied into an Excel list in the office in the evening. And at the latest at the next audit came the question: “Where exactly was that, and who actually fixed it, and when?”
I looked at software. Much of it ran only in the cloud and would first have had to pass IT approval. Hardly anything worked with the real floor plan, and nothing led cleanly from the finding to the verified action. So I started developing QualiWalk myself, in the evenings and at weekends, with exactly the requirements auditors have placed on me for years.
Today I use the app on my own inspection rounds. Every feature in it exists because I missed it in practice.
